In financial year 2020, the share of government health expenditure (GHE) in primary healthcare in India was the highest at 55.9 percent. Comparatively, the share of GHE in tertiary healthcare was over six percent for the same year. Moreover, government health spending declined for tertiary healthcare since financial year 2015.
