A 2024 study on news consumption among children in the United Kingdom found that 55 percent of 12 to 15 year olds used TikTok for news, making this the most popular social media platform among this demographic group. Instagram was most popular among 15 year olds, whilst 12 year olds were more engaged with news on YouTube than their older peers.
