Between 2021 and 2022, a net influx of 629,000 Americans moved into counties with the highest risk of heat in the U.S. Meanwhile, the counties most prone to flooding or wildfires saw a net influx of approximately 400,000 and 446,000 people, respectively. Concerns about affordability are one of the main reasons leading U.S. Americans to move to disaster-prone counties.
