In the United Kingdom the greater part of AI activity across all sectors can be found in London and the South-East and East of England. This area also constitutes the most densely populated areas of the country, with a vast share of the UK population living in that corner of England. Only a few sectors have a more balanced share, with the automotive and industrial automation industry being nearly 50-50 split. The share of activity is most lopsided in the financial services sector, with 88 percent of such activity happening in London and the surrounding area.
