According to a survey conducted in September 2022 in Japan, the majority of small and medium-sized businesses with web-based order intake systems reported positive impacts on their operations. The leading benefit of implementing B2B e-commerce systems was the reduction of the workload resulting from orders received over phone calls, as reported by 44.1 percent of surveyed businesses in manufacturing and wholesale.

Businesses in Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, Shiga, Kyoto, Hyogo, Nara, and Wakayama that implemented B2B e-commerce systems were surveyed.
