Based on self-submitted car history reports, the hatchback was the most popular vehicle body type in Hungary between January and May 2023, at a share of 31.4 percent. The hatchback overtook estate cars, which held the largest share in 2022. Sedans, which were third in the ranking, recorded a noteworthy drop in popularity between the two periods, partly as commuters found sedans to lack practicality for their daily urban trips.
