Market share of window air conditioner brands South Korea 2022-2023, by installation

As of June 2023, Samsung Electronics led the window air conditioner (AC) units segment in South Korea regardless of installation method. Window ACs can either be installed by the consumers themselves, or installed by a company employee free of charge depending on the brand. In recent years, sales of window ACs have increased, and more companies are producing their own models. This rise in demand can be attributed to the fact that single households are becoming more prevalent in South Korea. Additionally, with a significant share of the population living in rented apartments, installing AC units can become a complicated task. Amidst rising electricity prices, more and more consumers are turning towards the relatively less complicated option of window ACs.
