Share of cigarette smokers worldwide as of June 2023, by generation

Smoking is more prevalent among Millennials (44 percent), followed by Generation X consumers (36 percent). Meanwhile, the trend of cigarette smoking is less common among the youngest consumers in our survey, as some 29 percent of Gen Z respondents fall into this category.
This is according to the exclusive results from the Statista Consumer Insights.
