In 2023, Dailyhunt, developed by the Indian app publisher Eterno Infotech, was the leading news app used by online news consumers in India. It had accrued over 100 million downloads on Google Play Store alone, since its launch in 2015. This was followed by the Hindi news apps of legacy news outlets, Aaj Tak and Dainik Bhaskar. It was also worth noting that Twitter was a common source of online news among Indian consumers that year.
