In 2019, Bangladesh was the leading country of origin for medical tourists visiting India, accounting for 57 percent of arrivals. Iraq and Afghanistan followed with seven and five percent, respectively. The country is famous for medical tourism due to its cost-effective treatment, technologically advanced hospitals, and provision of specialized doctors.
