Penetration rate of credit cards in Portugal 2023, by social class
In 2023, the penetration rate of credit cards was higher among Portuguese people belonging to the upper or upper-middle class, who had them at a share of almost 60 percent. The middle class possessed these cards at a share of nearly 50 percent. In general, 40 percent of the population in Portugal had credit cards.
