According to a survey conducted in Nigeria in 2023, 65 percent of the women and 60 percent of the men respondents with no electricity meter at their house disclosed paying for electricity through estimated billing and/or direct billing. Moreover, 21 percent of both genders reported using a generator, while 13 and 14 percent of women and men reported using solar power, respectively. Overall, 43 percent of the respondents did not have a power meter at home.
