In 2022, the Unilever Group recycled roughly 482 thousand metric tons of waste from their manufacturing operations worldwide, a decline of roughly 12 percent in comparison to the previous year. This decline is associated with a reduction in Unilever's annual waste generation in the past decade. Meanwhile, the company's share of material reused, recycled, and recovered has remained constant in the past five years. As part of their waste-free world initiative, Unilever aims to halve food waste in their operations by 2025 and reduce their virgin plastic consumption.
