In the 2022/23 school year, 3,677 professionals were employed full-time in the field of special education and mainstreaming in Israel. This was an increase of more than 53 percent compared to the previous year, when there were 2,403 full-time professionals. Overall, the number of full-time professionals in these fields in the country nearly doubled over the period under review, from a base of 1,851 in the 2010/11 school year.
