Some 42 percent of global respondents to a December 2022 survey mentioned they were interesting in investing in either a battery-electric or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle for their next car purchase. In contrast, 19 percent of respondents reported having no plans to switch to electric vehicles, and another 10 percent intended on buying a few more fossil fuel cars before making the switch.
