Revenue of non-alcoholic beverage in India 2014-2028

The revenue from non-alcoholic beverages in India amounted to over 17 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The revenue is likely to increase over 24 billion dollars by 2027. Furthermore, soft drinks were the major contributor to the revenue of non-alcoholic beverages nationwide.

Soft Drinks

  The increased purchasing power of Gen Z consumers, rapid urbanization, and growing consumption in rural India are the major factors responsible for the growth of the soft drinks market. Around seven billion liters of soft drinks were consumed across the country. Moreover, Sprite and Thums Up owned by the Coca-Cola company dominated the carbonated soft drinks market. Surprisingly, the iconic soft drink brand, “Campa Cola”, famous in the 1970s and 1980s is set to be relaunched by Mukesh Ambani in the market.

Bottled water

  India is among the largest consumers of bottled water in the world. The revenue generated from bottled water companies amounted to about six billion U.S. dollars in 2023, with Bisleri being the leading player. Apparently, two of India’s megacities, Mumbai and Delhi, are major consumers of bottled water indicating the inadequate development of the public water supply system across the country.
