According to an online survey conducted in the United States in May 2023, 80 percent of Black respondents stated that social media highlights important issues that might not get a lot of attention otherwise. Overall, almost 80 percent of Asian respondents reported feeling that social media helps give a voice to underrepresented groups. Additionally, 61 percent of Hispanic respondents said that social media makes it easier to hold powerful people accountable for their actions.
