In 2022, the United States imported over eight billion U.S. dollars worth of structural iron and steel. Meanwhile, the exports of that product amounted to 1.4 billion U.S. dollars. The imports of screws, bolts, nuts, and similar products made out of iron and steel were valued at 8.5 billion U.S. dollars, which was also significantly higher than the imports of those products. The U.S. was one of the countries to which the UK exported more construction materials.
