From November 2023 to October 2024, Scandinavian Airlines' greenhouse gas emissions amounted to above 3.1 million metric tons of CO2. The company's emissions levels decreased significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and 2021. In the following years, the emissions of carbon dioxide resulting from SAS operations have experienced a rebound; however, the CO2 figures remain below the pre-pandemic levels.
