In the first five months of 2023, there were nearly 150 forest fires on the territory of Kazakhstan. The figure increased gradually over the period observed, peaking in 2022. In that year, the majority of the wildfires were registered in the Abai region.

The 2020 and 2021 figures were obtained from Tengri News.
The 2019 and 2022 figures were obtained from Golos Naroda.
The 2023 figure was obtained from energyprom.kz.
