As of the 2021/2022 fiscal year, government spending on the South African police services amounted to approximately 99.6 million South African rand (close to 5.52 million U.S. dollars). The largest portion of this amount went towards visible policing, which cost around 52.6 million South African rand (2.92 million U.S. dollars). Additionally, the visible police program consisted of the largest number of police employees in the country.
