Between January 2020 to April 2023, social video app TikTok generated approximately 2.7 billion downloads from users worldwide. In comparison, Meta-powered app Instagram generated around two billion downloads. Photo app BeReal, which launched in January 2020, generated less than 100 million downloads in the examined period.
