In 2024, the North American box office revenue generated between the beginning of the year and October decreased by 11.5 percent in comparison to that same period the previous year. While the box office has been continuously recovering since 2020, it has yet to reach pre-pandemic levels. At just under nine billion U.S. dollars, the 2023 figure is under what was recorded in 2019.
