Germany: breakdown of the monthly online B2C used car sales by fuel type, May 2023

In May 2023, nearly 46 percent of used cars sold through online business-to-consumer (B2C) platforms in Germany were petrol cars, followed by diesel cars at 37 percent. Electric cars made up a very small percentage of used car sales at a market share of nearly four percent. Low market demand for hybrid and electric cars in May is reflected in a larger share of hybrid and electric used cars in the June 2023 used vehicle stock.
