A survey on the consumer perspective of the halal industry conducted in Indonesia in March 2023 found that around 79 percent of respondents from lower income level preferred to use personal care or beauty products that are halal and suitable for their skin. In comparison, around 14 percent of respondents from the same income group stated that product effectiveness was more significant than whether or not the product had a halal logo.
