In 2022, the number of companies with approved science-based emission targets almost doubled the figure reported one year earlier, amounting to 2,079 worldwide. That same year, an additional 2,151 companies across the globe committed to set science-based targets. The largest share of companies with approved science-based targets and commitments belong to the services sector.
