In Portugal, the net profit registered by MC Sonae, one of the biggest food retailers in the country, amounted to 222 million euros in 2021. By 2022, it decreased by to 214 million euros. During the 2023, the retailer registered 136 million euros in profit.
Jerónimo Martins group registered higher values, namely 590 million euros in 2022, a 27.5 percent increase in relation to 2021. In 2023, the group achieved 756 million euros in profit.
