In 2022, Bari, Cremona, Modena, Prato, and Trento were the leading smart city in Italy offering smart city apps. This result was revealed in a study covering 108 provincial capital cities. The level of smartness of the cities was measured through the ICity Rate, which was determined combining indicators related to the following thematic dimensions: economy, living, environment, people, mobility, governance, and legality.
