During a survey conducted among young people aged 15 to 19 living in Australia in 2020, over three-quarters of respondents who identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander reported that they seek help with important issues from friends. Almost two-thirds reported seeking help from a parent or guardian.

A total of 25,800 young people between the ages of 15 and 19 responded to Mission Australia’s Youth Survey 2020, of which a total of 1,129 respondents identified as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Respondents were able to choose more than one option.
