Walking, cycling and e-scooter traffic injuries in Germany 2019-2022

Pedestrian and manual bicycle injuries in Germany dropped in 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but rose again in 2022. Meanwhile, traffic crash injuries among e-bike riders have been on an upward trend throughout the period between 2019 and 2022. In 2022, the number of e-bike riders injured in traffic crashes was around 22,500.

E-scooters have been recorded separately from other motorized two-wheelers since 2021, and in 2022, Germany recorded around 7,400 e-scooter riders being injured in traffic crashes.
