According to a survey on the representation of the Deaf community in media and entertainment, conducted in the United States in September 2022, white Deaf people as well as Deaf people who use American Sign Language are the most visible groups represented in the media in the United States, as 43 percent of hearing respondents stated to have seen them. By contrast, Deaf LGBTQ+ people as well as Deaf people using another sign language are the least represented groups in media.
