A survey on the representation of the Deaf community in media and entertainment, conducted in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia in September 2022, found that 79 percent of Deaf audiences felt that their representation in television and film had improved during the previous year. Among hearing audiences, this share stood at 73 percent. In addition, the share of consumers responding that the representation of the Deaf community had improved a lot is considerably higher among Deaf audiences.
