In a survey conducted in May 2021 among Australian consumers, the top two reasons for drinking coffee among consumers nationwide was due to the taste and to wake up. Over 60 percent of respondents in Western Australia, South Australia, and Victoria indicated they drank coffee due its taste. Over one-fifth of those surveyed in Western Australia reported drinking coffee to get through work, whilst respondents in Queensland and South Australia often drank coffee beverages to unwind.
