During the financial year 2024, the special economic zones (SEZs) in India had an export value for services of around 94 billion U.S. dollars. Cochin SEZ had the highest export value of around 27 billion U.S. dollars accounting for around 29 percent of the export value among key SEZ zones for services in the country. SEZs are geographical areas demarcated to attract foreign investments and propel economic activity, with better infrastructural support from central and state governments.
