As of April 2023, Gujarat was the leading state in India in terms of installed wind power capacity. The region had a wind energy capacity of over 10 gigawatts as of that date, which was almost one-fourth of the total wind capacity installed in the country. Tamil Nadu followed closely, also surpassing 10 gigawatts of wind capacity.
