According to a survey conducted in Japan in July 2022, security was the most common concern regarding the use of tap to pay credit cards. More than 18 percent of respondents were concerned about security, while close to 16 percent were worried about the loss or theft of their cards.

The number of respondents collected for the survey was determined based on the population by age group and sex and the "credit card ownership rate by age group and sex" in a preliminary survey.
