The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was signed in 2021. It aims to invest in U.S. broadband, transportation, and energy infrastructure. The legislation designates around 63 billion U.S. dollars for passenger and freight rail infrastructure. Within this area, around 36 billion is allocated to Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grants. An additional 250 million dollars is allocated for a Restoration & Enhancement Grant Program.
