In order to meet science-based targets established by the UN, Zalando has committed to significantly reduce their carbon footprint by 2025. While the company has already reached the target regarding renewable electricity use, more has to be done to achieve the planned 80 percent reduction of Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gases emissions. As of 2023, 65.2 percent of Zalando's suppliers and business partners signed up for the Science-Based Targets initiative. By 2025, the figure should rise to 90 percent.
