A survey conducted in February 2022 showed that seven percent of male smartphone users in Japan had downloaded at least 50 apps on their smartphones. The share was almost equally high among female users. People who had downloaded between 10 to 19 apps made up roughly one third of the respondents both among men and women. This group constituted the largest group in this survey.
