Average number of meals consumed weekly in Portugal 2022, by type

In Portugal, the average number of meals eaten weekly containing red meat declined from almost 3.7 meals, in 2018, to 3.1 meals, in 2022. Meals with fish, on the other hand, increased, going from 3.5 meals to 3.7 meals. The same occurred with plant-based meals, which rose from 1.95 meals per week to 2.2 weekly meals. White meat-based meals suffered the smallest change, declining from 4.7 to 4.6 meals.
