In a survey conducted in Japan between December 2022 and January 2023, over 87 percent of female respondents agreed with the statement that one should not impose their own way on their partner when it comes to housework and raising children. Close to 83 percent agreed that household tasks and childcare responsibilities should be shared between couples. Male respondents expressed similar views, but agreed to a lesser extent.
