Cricket: most runs scored in an Ashes series 2023

As of 2023, Australian batting legend Sir Donald "The Don" Bradman held the record for the most runs scored by a batsman in a single men's Ashes series, which came during the 1930 Ashes series in England. The Don's 974 runs in that series were spread out over seven innings, leaving him with a series average of 139.14. Bradman, who ranked as the all-time leading run-scorer in The Men's Ashes, was also proficient with the bat in the 1934 and 1936/37 series, scoring 810 and 758 runs, respectively. More recently, Steve Smith accumulated 774 runs over the course of seven innings during the 2019 Ashes in England, which made him the batsman with the fifth-highest amount of runs scored during a single Ashes series.
