The number of people connected to the drinking water network in Sweden has been steadily increasing since at least 1960. In 2021, a total of over 9.2 million Swedes were connected to the drinking water network. This was an increase of nearly 22 percent when compared to the turn of the century. The Swedish population connected to the sewage network has also increased over the last decades.
