Since 1990, water consumption in Sweden has been on a downward trend. In 2020, the Nordic country consumed a total of nearly 3.1 billion m³ of water. This represented a decrease of some 15 percent when compared to 1990 levels. Sweden's largest water consumer is the industry sector.
