From 2016 to 2024, 99 percent of the U.S. tax-exempt institutional money market funds (MMFs) were located in North America. This is a similar composition to the retail tax-exempt MMFs, as the combined value of those funds domiciled in Europe and Asia accounting for less than a billion U.S. dollars in July 2024.
