In accordance with the International Cricket Council's (ICC) revenue distribution model, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stood to have received 405 million U.S. dollars between 2016 and 2023. This sum was substantially larger than the figure other national cricket boards worldwide were to receive. For instance, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was allocated 139 million U.S. dollars, which was the second largest amount of revenue from the ICC, however, this was still less than half of what the BCCI earned.
