According to a survey conducted in China in spring of 2023, around 42 percent of surveyed Yulin region residents did not have an opinion about a prospect of banning dog and cat meat sales in Yulin. Only 16 percent of respondents were in favor of it. The rest either had no objection or did not agree with such a ban.
Yulin city in Guangxi province of China is infamous for its annual Dog Meat Festival which draws a lot of criticism internationally as well as concerns about animal cruelty, dog thefts, etc.

Knowing that the sale of dog and cat meat is banned in Shenzhen, what do you think about a smiliar ban in Yulin?
Among the survey respondents, around 71 percent were between 18 and 45 years old;
51.5 percent were female;
around 29 percent had primary education, 34 percent had secondary or technical secondary school education, and 37 percent had higher education;
around 66 percent were from urban areas;
around 55 percent earned between 30 and 50 thousand yuan a year; 19 percent earned less than 30 thousand yuan.
