Rental premium of green-certified offices in leading Asian markets 2022
Offices with sustainability certification in the leading Asian markets had generally higher rents than non-certified offices in 2022. In Hong Kong, the rental premium was between seven and 28 percent. According to the source, sustainability is a growing theme among occupiers, resulting in a higher demand for sustainable offices. However, markets with high availability of certified buildings tend to have lower rental premiums and instead, experience rental discount for non-certified offices. One of these examples is Singapore, where the majority of the rental stock has green certification.
