In 2022, over 1.4 billion passengers undertook journeys within Azerbaijan. This represents an increase of 25 percent compared to the previous year. Over the period given, the volume of road passengers followed a gradual upward trend, reaching its peak at around 1.8 billion travelers in 2019. However, the coronavirus pandemic caused a substantial decline in passenger numbers a year later.
