In 2023, the Netherlands was one of the largest exporters of electrical and electronic waste and scrap worldwide, with over 247,000 metric tons shipped. France followed, with some 120,000 metric tons exported. That year, seven out of the top 10 e-waste exporters were located in Europe. Nevertheless, the majority of global e-waste exports are carried out in an uncontrolled manner.
